LO Team Coordinator training is free and open to all trained MALS LOs who have attended at least one protest event as an LO. This workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to coordinate an LO team, enable you to play a key role in protecting human rights, and help us increase MALS’ capacity to field LO teams at more protests. The 2-hour training will cover: - Organising and mobilising an LO team
- Protest risk assessment
- Assertive, rights-based police liaison
- Safety considerations
- Team logistics & equipment
- Debriefing
- Advocacy, reporting & Statements of Concern
MALS is committed to supporting and upskilling all volunteers to build their capacity to play an active role in defending our civil and political rights. Beginner LO Coordinators are given the opportunity to apply their new knowledge and skills in the field by working alongside an experienced LO Coordinator with the support of other experienced MALS LOs.
