Dear Legal Observers!
We’re running a special training for MALS volunteers who are interested in coordinating Legal Observer Teams.

Amnesty International Suite 7, 134 Cambridge St Collingwood
This training will equip you to coordinate a Legal Observer Team, play a key role in protecting human rights and increase MALS’s capacity to cover more protests.
Training is free and open to all trained legal observers who have done at least one protest event as a legal observer. The 2-hour training will cover: - Putting a team together
- Protest risk assessment
- Assertive, rights-based police liaison
- Safety considerations
- Team logistics (kits & equipment)
- Debriefing
- Advocacy, reporting & Statements of Concern
MALS is committed to supporting all volunteers to step up and play an active role. Coordinators can work in pairs and have the back-up of other experienced MALS members. Please register for numbers
